Messages Through Time: Part 2

Denver: A Spiritual Assignment

I flew into Denver International Airport on a mission to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday and to explore psychic messages I received from my great grandfather. In order to begin this adventure I would need a car, so I made my way over to Alamo early on Saturday morning wondering what I would discover. The first discovery was that renting a car is not a speedy process :) , the second was that two year olds can be extraordinarily affectionate (as my cousin’s daughter showered me with hugs) and the third was the true meaning of home…

The Original Message

My great grandfather was a Stolte of Cedaredge, CO. He moved to the area when he was fourteen with his family and helped them homestead 80 acres of land that in time became a productive orchard operation.

When he contacted me earlier this year he sent me several images; an old steam train, an airplane, a travel trunk and an image of an old farmhouse stamped with a heart. He told me to go…and showed the trunk opening to something that felt wonderful.

Based on these images I spoke with my aunt who lives in the area. Aside of my grandmother (who now has Alzheimer’s) my aunt remembers the family history having heard their stories from her mother and her aunts for the many years she lived nearby and visited them. I described the travel trunk to her and she identified it as my great grandfather’s. It was actually in her possession for a time but was now in very bad shape and in a place that just isn’t accessible to us…my original intent was to be open to the experience and see where it would lead. With that in mind, I went to the link between us and the real reason that I came.

Visiting Grandma

While visiting my grandmother I connected to her energy and sat sending images of birthday cakes (it was her birthday) and the old family structures I had spent the previous day visiting, right down to the taste of an orchard peach I purchased less than a mile away from her family orchards. It was then that the scene changed and I found myself in a room with her. She looked much as I remembered when we lived together. My grandmother never went anywhere without putting on her lipstick…always leaving traces of it on my cheeks, so when she kissed me hello without it I teased her and asked her why she didn’t have any on. She said she didn’t need it because she wasn’t going anywhere until her dad came to pick her up.

Then she showed me an image like a movie displaying before us. I saw my great grandfather open the door and my grandmother as a child of about five run to him. He bent down and engulfed her in a hug, picked her up and said, it’s time to go see mother (my grandmother lost her mother to surgery when she was very young). They waved and exited through the open door, I followed to stand and watch them walk up toward the same farm house he had previously shown me imprinted with a heart. Her brothers and sisters were all there seated around their mother waiting for their father’s return.

The scene closed and I was back with my grandmother lying in the nursing home bed. They got her up to eat and I went and sat with her, smoothing her forehead, relaxing the muscles in her tightened brow. She remained relaxed and happy until I announced it was time to leave. She furrowed her brow once again and I kissed her goodbye, knowing that love transcends our physical reality…that the bonds we create are not dependent on time, they are spiritual and they operate on laws of their own. In some space and place the intense love that this family held for each other lives on…and has created a home. A home of the human heart and soul…

Home

Witnessing this I ponder some of the ways in which we humans shine with beauty…we shine through our care and concern for one another….our capacity to help, to share our human experience, joy in one another and our love of this amazing adventure we call life. To me home is any place where I have experienced intense connection and love…what does home mean to you?

Gotta Question? Ask Your Body…

Chakra Reactions

Lately on my after class walks the subject of body reactions related to the chakras has come up. Many of us found that if we were using our voice for example, to do something that did not align internally that we experienced some side effect such as phlegm, a cough or some other impediment that continued until the situation ended.

I had not been aware of experiencing these sorts of connections until one day I had a sharp pain in my solar plexus. At first I thought it might go away with a light visualization but apparently for me anyway, chakra disturbances don’t go away until I recognize exactly what my body is trying to tell me.

The Mind-Body Connection

I was experiencing a reaction to an internal conflict. When I acknowledged it, the pain immediately disappeared, so naturally this got me thinking about what we’ve been learning in class and using the body to step into situations, try on our thoughts and see how they feel. It’s been somewhat surprising to find that some of the ideas I had floating around in my mind that seemed perfectly acceptable as an intangible thought became completely unacceptable when I took them on physically and fully explored them via the mind-body connection. It was here that I realized there is some form of resistance…that this idea somehow doesn’t feel right.

The Feeling State

In our feeling state we have access to different information. This can be especially useful when we are testing our ideas because our body reacts to our conscious and unconscious thoughts. When you visualize a situation in your mind and physically take it on, your body will react to this vision, your values and what is really important to you in this scenario will come forth with careful observation and insight.

How it feels will be an indication of internal alignment with this course of action. Our bodies give us our true reactions to life. By asking very specific kinds of questions and watching these reactions, the exact area that is out of alignment can be pinpointed with relative ease. If something doesn’t feel right, the body is a great tool. It will lead you exactly where you need to go to make unconscious thoughts or beliefs conscious. Using your body to step into decisions leads to better choices.

Communication is Redundant

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

NLP has a presupposition that communication is redundant. Here is my take on how I’ve experienced this so far:

Our thoughts get there before we do.

Our intents go out before us like a wave. Our minds form them, an emotion develops and our bodies react. This entire sequence occurs before we say a word. Before we’ve walked over to the other person to ask our question it is already seeking them out, interacting with them and creating something new.

I’ve seen evidence of this time after time at this training. I know when someone behind me is considering me for an exercise. I can feel their energy stretch out and tap me on the shoulder. I sometimes even hear the intent. I’ve gotten entire messages or blocks of information in this way, especially if there is an emotional connection to the message.

Intent and manifestation are inseparably linked on all levels of awareness.

The link of intent and manifestation has come very clear as well. The evidence of this has been undeniable. As soon as I make a clear decision, it instantly manifests. For example I decided against sharing a room only to have the person come to me a few hours later to say that something was going on that would prevent this from happening. I went shopping with my cousin listening with my spiritual senses for items of resonance and literally heard a moonstone ring sing when she walked by it. This morning I was running on the treadmill while performing a chakra meditation. I was looking for a physical representation of the color purple, a few seconds later, a fellow training attendee walked into the pool area which is visible from the treadmill wearing purple swimming trunks of the exact color I was imagining.

Recently I awoke from a dream headed in an unpleasant direction only to affirm that I can make anything happen in the dreamscape, appoint myself and the others involved some super powers and watch the entire sequence which was previously challenging resolve with ease.

We are always communicating.

All of this to say we are communicating all of the time on more levels than we often realize. As I practice going through life in this manner I am much more diligent and aware of my inner space. Whatever I am thinking and feeling can and will on some level be communicated, so I am careful about what thoughts I choose to entertain. I clean house at every available moment and shake off what is not beneficial. When experiencing something symbolic psychically I’m quick to pull out what is valuable and then set it on the shelf for future examination. I do not dwell, or allow my mind to wander back, as I want to be in control of the content in my immediate inner space.

Everyone and everything is communicating and I’ve started to listen the way the universe listens. It seems to me that intense listening is an attribute of heaven. Coaching is teaching me to listen, not just with my physical ears but with my spiritual ears as well, it is opening and shifting something inside of me so that I can receive the messages underneath words and form. The universe has many voices…if I listen, the stillness speaks.
