Energy Bath
Most of us can agree that no matter what is happening in our everyday lives…the process of bathing seems to lighten the load. Something about getting clean is enjoyable, relaxing and presses the reset button for many of us starting or in many cases, ending our days. I am proposing to look at a routine which most of us view as a simple process that peels the dirt away from our physical bodies as a spiritual one and I hope that even those who find themselves agitated by the need to carve the time to bathe into their day will learn to tap into the healing available underneath the surface of what has been up till now a mundane chore.
Gratitude & Spirit
The first step in turning physical bathing into an expression of spiritual energy starts with gratitude. For me this was a natural process that was born out of some of my life situations growing up but if you have ever been camping for an extended period of time in a remote place or engaged in an activity in which you were literally covered in dirt, dust or some other kind of substance than you will be able to identify with just how wonderful it can feel to get clean. What makes these situations different than the everyday approach is you. You are happy to be able to clean yourself off. You willingly and excitedly engage in the process, relishing every minute of it…lingering to prolong your enjoyment. It is this joy that allows the water to go beyond the dirt on your skin and sink deeply into your soul.
Imagine how you’d feel about finding the perfect place to bathe…perhaps it’s a lake or stream, a marble room or Roman style bath. Here you have hours with which to unwind and nothing pressing to do. Hold this scene in your mind, letting the surprise and elation of stumbling on this place and the ease of no schedule, worries or responsibilities permeate your being. Once you’ve achieved feelings of beauty and tranquility, enter your bathroom…it’s time to begin.
The Process
I realize of course that you can not spend hours in your bathroom each morning (although I do suggest that you take a day every so often and luxuriously devote yourself to this process) the point of this exercise is to teach you how leave your to do list out of your bathroom routine…I assure you, you don’t need it
. While you’re bathing I want you to remain focused on bathing…not on everything else you have to get through in your day.
When you turn on the water, hold the tranquility you achieved earlier and concentrate on the sound of the water. When the temperature is right step inside, get comfortable and concentrate on your breathing. Spend about two minutes following deep breathes in through your nose (for a count of 6), hold it for 2 and then release it through your mouth for 6. Now imagine yourself covered in mud, this mud represents all of the negatives you encounter in a normal day…the water is golden light which lifts the mud from your body and carries it away. As the mud releases from your form, see your body emerging in pure white light. Wash your hair and see your spiritual body underneath glow, wash your face, neck, arms, torso, back, legs and feet in the same manner each time seeing the emergence of your spiritual body (a glowing form with your exact same shape).
Before you step out tilt your face skyward and see opening from the heavens a giant beam of light brighter than the sun. It falls upon you, cascading down your body starting with your head. This is the divine white light of love and protection. It engulfs you until all you can see in your minds eye is a glowing mass. Emanating from this mass is the most penetrating sense of peace that you have ever felt. If there are any spots on your body that you are having trouble with see extra light in those areas.
If there is something mentally or emotionally challenging that you are experiencing send extra light to your head or heart area, if it is self confidence related send it to your abdomen, if you need the right words for an activity this day then send it to your neck. Lastly, end your routine with an affirmation. Say to yourself, I am surrounded by the white light of divine love and protection. I attract only positive energy, situations and people.
The goal here is to pay attention to your body, how it feels, the process of getting clean and to clean your energy as well. By using your bathroom routine to flood your body with renewed energy each day…you are tapping into a healing opportunity, releasing your negativity and starting your day on a positive note by stating your intentions.
A word of caution for those who are practicing opening up to their own psychic abilities…don’t be surprised if this practice triggers psychic experiences for you. The vibration level this meditation can achieve just may send one of your guides in with an urgent message ![]()
